Zero-Waste Small Macrame Wall Hanging

♻️ This unique little wall hanging was made purely from various yarn, ribbon, and cotton cord scraps leftover from other fiber art projects I have made in the past, making it a zero waste, one-of-a-kind piece that will never be displayed in anyone else’s home besides your own. By hanging this in your home you are giving new life and purpose to fiber waste that would otherwise end up in a landfill.

🌈 With my biggest goal during this project being to use up as much of my fiber waste collection as I could reasonably fit into the design, the result was a whimsical piece of art made out of strings in an array of colors, shapes, sizes, textures, and materials. You will see shades like dark blue, sage, cinnamon, mustard, pink, and creamy white.

🪡 To make this I used a technique called macraweave, which combines the knotting of macrame with weaving, minus the loom. The result is a highly textured fiber art piece full of character. Personally, when I study a macraweave wall hanging, I feel like I’m looking at a painting. There is just so much to take in! Wherever you choose to hang your special handmade wall hanging, there is no doubt it will beg for attention ✨

📏 Measures 7.5" across (the width of the stick) and the height is 19" (from the top of the hanging string to the bottom of the longest string in the fringe), making it suitable for narrow spaces
